MerMan Action Figure
MerMan was part and parcel of the first MOTU animated series back in the 80′s. He has been a major part of the series since it’s inception, being the number two of Skeletor’s henchmen falling in line after Beastman for Skeletors affections, such as they are.
The new MOTU series, brought to light in 2008 offer us a bit more of Mer Man history, telling us that Merman doesn’t just rule his own race of beings, but is the leader of all that lives under the seas of Eternia. He’s actually a king ,but he’s also in thrall to Skeletor, who rules Snake Mountain.
Because he serves Skeletor, of course he’s at war with He Man, and the other heroes of the day from Castle Grayskull.
He’s quite often working in concert with Beast Man, and the new series of figurines tell us that Mer Man was more or less forced to become part of Skeletor’s armies after there was a battle against another ocean kingdom and his kingdom lost.
He doesnt’ like going to the surface and his allegiance with Skeletor takes him there more often than he wants to go, but when his work for the Evil Skeletor is done, he slips back into the oceans of Eternia to wait for Skeletors call to arms in another wicked bid for control of Eternia.

Depending on what you’re looking for, vintage or new MOTO figure, Mer-Man is currently going at a rate of between 25 and 50 USSD. Ebay has some figures although he doesn’t seem to be as readily available as some of the other figurines so you might want to grab one when you see it offered at a decent price.

I remember Mer-Man he is the Evil Ocean Warlord of Planet Eternia and one of the Evil Warriors of Skeletor he usually enjoys harassing Man-At-Arms’ step daughter Teela due that Man-At-Arms is one of his old enemies he believes when he harass Teela he gets a chance to show his hatred for Man-At-Arms.
Michael,
I can’t seem to find out why he doesn’t like Man-At-Arms, any ideas on why the simmering resentment.
